Trip Introduction

Situated between Tibetan plateau and the Dhaulagiri ranges, the Dolpo region is known to be the least developed region but one of the best trekking regions in the enthralling and serene country, Nepal. With the unforgettable experience of the age old Buddhist and Bonpo traditions, the legendary Gompas, and the gigantic mountains, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Kanjiroba, the Upper Dolpo Trek indeed a mystical land.

The Upper Dolpo Trek runs through the mesmeric SheyPhoksundo Lake. The sheyGompa introduces the unfrequented Saldang and DhoTarap which is very much tranquil. The stunning scenery of the dominant mountain ranges, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Kanjiroba keep up to the beauty of the Upper Dolpo Trek. At one point the Upper Dolpo trek also meets the Lower Dolpo region. The pine forest along the way as well as the desolated wilderness and srong winds add to the beauty of the trek. The Buddist and Bonpo are equally welcoming and have been blanketed by their striking traditions.
